Apple only lets the iPod automatically sync with iTunes. Technically, that is not wholly true. The iPhone and the iPad also sync with iTunes as now. An iTunes customer who uses another device to listen to his music has to find another way to keep his play lists up to date. The iTunes Agent for iPad is going to work just like iTunes, so when you load it up for the first time, it scans over your computer and checks for any media files you might want to upload to the iPad.
